Hammond, Anderson Bring Resources to Seniors at Free Expo

State Senator Neil Anderson (R-Andalusia) and State Representative Norine Hammond (R-Macomb) wrapped up another well-attended and successful Senior Expo in Carthage on Thursday, providing vital resources and services to local seniors free of charge.

“Our seniors play an incredible role in our communities and hosting an event like this in a rural area ensures they have convenient access to important services,” said Senator Anderson.

This year’s expo featured nearly 40 vendors, including first responders as well as local and state agencies. Attendees received free health screenings and services, such as blood pressure checks, A1C tests, strength assessments, ICASH assistance, prescription drug disposal, and veterans’ services.

“This event is truly a one-stop shop for seniors in west central Illinois,” said Representative Hammond. “It’s not only a chance to connect our senior community with the services they need, but it also allows us as legislators to hear directly from residents and service providers about the issues that matter most.”

Senator Anderson and Representative Hammond plan to continue hosting the Senior Expo each year and look forward to expanding the event in the future.
