Glock Ban Resurfaces in House Gun Violence Prevention Committee
House Bill 4471 is a de facto ban on Glock pistols in Illinois. We debated the Glock ban in committee earlier this year, but no vote was taken on the bill at that time.
Republican members pointed out that Glock switches are already illegal and criminals don’t follow existing gun laws anyway. Banning the sale and possession of Glocks will not do anything to stop violent crime. It will only make criminals out of law-abiding gun owners.
Unfortunately, the Democrats’ Glock Ban has resurfaced and will likely be put to a vote in the House Gun Violence Prevention Committee tomorrow (Wednesday, May 20) at 2 pm.
